Every year on June 15, “ASEAN Dengue Day” is observed in recognition of the number of patients and deaths caused by dengue disease. Southeast Asia has the highest number of patients. ASEAN’s ten member countries are Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Brunei, Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar, and Cambodia. As a result, the 22nd ASEAN Health Ministers Meeting in Singapore in July 2010 unanimously agreed to establish June 15 of each year as ASEAN Dengue Day.
